Online registration for KPC classes opened on November 26. Juniors and seniors who want to take college credits at a reduced price, may need to take the Accuplacer (for English) or ALEKS (for math) before registering.

Classes available this January:

  • Fundamentals of Oral Communications, Mondays 6pm-8:45pm
  • Introduction to College Writing, Monday/Wednesday 11am-12:30pm
  • Introduction to Literature, Tuesdays 6pm-8:45pm
  • Non-credit Spanish for Travelers, Tuesdays, February 5 – March 5
  • As well as numerous online classes

Spring 2019 Kenai Peninsula College Tuition and Fees

High School JumpStart Tuition: $71 per credit (rate is subsidized by the Kenai Peninsula
Borough) a savings of $141 per credit.
Network Charge: $8 per credit
Facilities: $6 per credit
Distance Delivery: $18 per credit distance fee for all distance delivered courses
Textbook: Cost varies

Register by December 18th or classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

The Kenai Peninsula Borough pays for two-thirds of the tuition charge for the first 6 credits taken as a junior or senior. These will be the cheapest college credits ever offered. Some of these courses can be dual credit, and will also apply toward high school graduation requirements. There will be additional fees depending on what class/classes students decide to take, and what textbooks are required.

Students will need:

  1. A University of Alaska Student ID number
  2. Secondary Student and Parent/Guardian Agreement (SPA)
  3. Copy of placement test scores, SAT/ACT or Accuplacer
  4. JumpStart Discounted Tuition Application
  5. High School New Student Orientation- Certificate of Completion.

Important Note:

Students should be academically and socially prepared for the challenge of a college class. Failure to complete college credits satisfactory may result in ineligibility to receive federal financial aid for college.
