Happy Thursday Seward High! Welcome back to ‘This Vs. That’! In this week’s battle, I decided to take a little peek further into the past. Who’s going head-to-head this time? We have Tom and Jerry in one corner, and The Road Runner Show in the other! 

 The Road Runner show first premiered on September 10th, 1966. The show focuses on the classic chase scene between the fast-running Road Runner and the scheming Wile E. Coyote, who usually tries different gadgets to capture the Road Runner which always leads to failure.

Tom and Jerry first premiered on February 10th, 1940. Much like The Road Runner Show, it focuses on rivalry between two animals. Tom is a cat who chases and tries helplessly to capture the mouse, Jerry. Tom and Wile E. Coyote are very similar characters, they are always the ones scheming on the other rival but always end up in failure somehow.

As usual, I went around and asked people who they liked more and why? The combat between these two shows lie within the hands of Seward High School. Who will it be? Tom and Jerry? Or The Road Runner Show? Let’s see what the Seahawks have to say:

Eric Withrow (Sophomore) – “The Road Runner Show: I like the bird because he’s smarter.”

Deanna Price (Head Secretary) – “Tom and Jerry: I Jerry.”

William LaRow (Junior) – “Tom and Jerry: Goated show. CLASSIC.”

Triton Messer (Senior) – “Tom and Jerry: Grew up watching it.”

Tyson Lyon (Junior) – “Tom and Jerry: Watched more of Tom and Jerry, and it’s funnier.”

Kaylynn Reed (Junior) – “Tom and Jerry: Because I loved watching it as a kid. It’s also very funny.”

Ms. Ransom (Librarian) – “Tom and Jerry: I watched it more as a kid.”

Michael Benjamin (Sophomore) – “The Road Runner Show: Watched it more when I was younger.”

Olive James (Sophomore) – “Tom and Jerry: I didn’t watch The Road Runner Show.”

Isaac LeBlanc (Junior) – “Tom and Jerry: Cuz they are him and can’t lose.”

The Seahawks have spoken. With 25% of votes, The Road Runner Show has taken defeat. That leaves us with our winner, Tom and Jerry, with 75% of the votes. Tom and Jerry have taken the victory! Until next time…
