About Me: Cameron Bunch

Sarah Martin, Staff Writer

If students at Seward High School need anything in their car fixed, they always know whom to call: Cameron Bunch. This 17 year old senior enjoys “working on vehicles, fixing things, and building boat models.”

Cameron got introduced to mechanics by his uncle who owns a mechanic shop in Nikiski. His uncle lets him work on brakes, engines, and “a little bit of everything.” He recalls one of his first projects was building a spaceship from the video game Halo, made completely out of Legos. Cameron believes that when he works on cars, it is his way of contributing — “one way I like helping people out.”

After high school, he plans on going to AVTEC for diesel mechanics, then continue on to a trade school. His uncle has talked about, after retirement, that Cameron could take over his shop. However, Cameron doesn’t know if that will happen. He did mention that he would love to “start completely from scratch with a new mechanic shop.”
