Peanut Butter Energy Bites!
Ready in 10 minutes
Makes about 12 balls
Ingredients
- ⅔ cup peanut butter
- ½ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ½ cup ground flax seeds
Preparation
- Combine all five ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Stir to combine. Place the bowl in the fridge for 15 to 30 minutes so it loses some stickiness.
- Remove from the fridge, roll into bit-sized balls, and store in the fridge for up to a week.
Tips
If you do not have these ingredients around, don’t panic! It is easy to substitute ingredients in this recipe—it isn’t a finicky one. I suggest using chia seeds rather than flax seeds. You can also substitute any kind of chocolate chip for semi sweet ones, almond butter for peanut butter, etc. There are also many yummy additions you can make such as throwing in a handful of coconut flakes, nuts, cranberries, or cocoa powder if you’re a chocolate lover like I am!

My daughter and I made these a few days ago. We only did 1/2 cup of oats. I added a few teaspoons of cocoa powder to make it chocolaty. Also, I put shredded coconut in half of the batch. Emmajean wanted to freeze a few, and those were yummy too. All combinations were tasty treats! Thanks for a recipe that has fun variations!
