Most Anticipated Sled of the Decade

The Lynx Boondocker lineup has been a showstopper since its unveiling in the 2021 season. The Lynx Boondocker 2022 models are just hitting the snow, and I am very excited to hear some pro-sledder reviews soon.

Lynx snowmobiles have been around since 1967, but had exclusively been sold in Europe until 2022. Lynx is a BRP subsidiary, meaning it is quite similar in many aspects to the BRP Ski Doo snowmobiles.

Nevertheless, the Lynx Boondocker is not a dressed up Gen 4 Ski Doo Summit. It has a bulletproof bump crushing skid superior to a Ski Doo skid because the design is stronger, rigid and more resistant to snow buildup. The tunnel is stronger due to stock strengthening and a beefy bumper. The narrower running boards are an exquisite upgrade to reduce paneling out, opposed to the wider running boards of the Gen 4. The humongous skis keep the sled above the snow, and another plus to the Lynx is a skinnier gas tank profile to give you more room to lean when ripping a tight carve.

Although the killer looks of the Lynx are extremely appealing, my personal opinion is the Ski Doo Summit Gen 4 and the Lynx Boondocker are both industry leading innovations. You should buy the one you think is the coolest. I say that because on paper they are both absolute animals; however, at the end of the day, it is all about getting into the beautiful backcountry with a reliable ripper.
