Teyla Ramsey, a senior this year at SHS, is headstrong, determined, confident and very family-oriented. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her siblings and handling/taking care of all her reptiles. Teyla has four leopard geckos: Toby, Iris, Lilah, and Trish. Two bearded dragons: Patricia and Patrick, and Suka her one snake. Sometimes on short days, she likes to bring Patricia to school; it brings so much joy to the students and teachers.
Freshman through junior year, Teyla played on the varsity volleyball team. In 2023 when the team placed 2nd in the Valdez tournament, she won a “All Tournament Award.” Unfortunately, she had to make the hard decision to not play her senior year to focus on graduating early. She said, “ I wish my girls a very good season this year, and I can’t wait to see them succeed.”
After high school, she plans on continuing to work as much as she can to save up for a house. Teyla also wants to go to college at some point to get her masters degree in accounting and a minor degree in business. She is working hard on graduating early to achieve her goals. Some advice she gave for the freshmen is to “ Stay caught up on your homework!”
A random fun fact about Teyla is she has an amazing memory, especially when it comes to birthdays. She says, “ I have over 200 birthdays memorized.” So if you forget an important someone’s birthday, ask her because she may know.
When she was asked what she would miss about high school, she said, “ My best friend Nevaeh because she’s changed my life for the better, and Mr. Hemstock’s class because of his funny remarks.”
