This class of 2025 graduate, Martin Fink, has left a humorous and notable impact on Seward High School. He recognizes himself as a capable journalist, a dedicated student body president, and even a spirited mascot for a short month. Marty hopes to be remembered by his peers as “the one people think of and go, huh, that one guy Marty.” A personality that can always make a room laugh, he certainly will be remembered here at Seward High.
Marty offers underclassmen this knowledgeable advice: “Think long and hard before you run in an election.” His favorite moment remains unknown, as he believes, “What if I haven’t had it yet”. He knows his time here has not concluded.
After high school, Marty plans to attend AVTEC to study refrigeration. He addresses the importance of the trade because “someone’s got to repair them.” His extracurricular activities include two years of track, three years of skiing, one year of cross country, and one year of football. Sports played a significant role in his high school experience, as he recalls, “They were fun while they lasted.”
Marty will miss school spirit the most, particularly the well-known rivalry between the Seahawks and Nikiski Bulldogs. His biggest mentor, Ms. Swander, taught him valuable writing skills, and how to write a captivating article, which he will use for the rest of his life! High school also taught him practical skills, such as “how to wrench on cars,” which Marty considers the best life lesson he was taught. He learned that “swearing is fun but doesn’t make the problem disappear.” He advises freshmen to listen to these words of advice.
Marty Fink’s journey through high school resembles his commitment to making the most of his time and how a comedic edge will improve every situation. His legacy will undoubtedly be remembered by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. We know big things are coming your way, and we wish you lots of luck!
