Seward High recognizes senior, Hayden Jacobs, as November’s Student of the Month. She is granted this award due to her consistent effort and determination during a busy and often stressful semester. When asked how it feels to receive the recognition, Hayden simply said it “feels good,” reflecting her humble attitude toward her concentrated achievements.
Hayden’s favorite subject is Government, which she credits in part to her teacher, Mr. Hinders because he isn’t too harsh on deadlines that are stressful. More importantly, Hayden shows a strong sense of responsibility when it comes to her academics. She manages her time by working every night at home and using any free time she has to complete missing assignments so her grades do not slip. She admits that school can be overwhelming, especially with a heavy workload, but she pushes through by staying consistent and not letting herself fall behind.
Looking toward the future, Hayden is still exploring her academic goals. She is interested in helping others and saving lives and has considered becoming a nurse, though she is still figuring out what path fits her best. She shared that communicating in front of large groups can be challenging, which makes her journey one of growth as well. One staff member who has made a significant impact on her this semester is Mrs. Ransom, whom Hayden credits for offering support, helping with assignments, and being a staff member she can rely on.
As a newer member of the school community, Hayden is still reaching out and looking for ways to positively impact those around her. Her advice to other students is straightforward and honest: don’t give up and keep up with your work. Hayden’s work ethic, perseverance, and willingness to keep trying even when things feel stressful make her a deserving choice for November’s Student of the Month. Congratulations Hayden!
