Sobina Clendaniel had the opportunity to attend the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs from October 28 to November 2, 2025. While at this camp, she trained with international competitors and coaches to further develop her wrestling skills. While there, she would train multiple times per day to advance her technique and her knowledge in the sport.

“I got invited to the Olympic Training Center for placing in the top three at the largest tournament in America. I was able to take this opportunity to the fullest by attending training sessions and the lectures. I believe that I learned a lot and improved in the minor details of wrestling that can change the outcome of the match. Next year, I hope to place top three at the World Team Trials and claim another ticket to the Olympic Training center.”
Currently, Clendaniel is ranked 13th in the nation among all high-school females in the 125-pound weight class. Furthermore, in the 16-year-old division, she is ranked third nationally.
All of Seward is cheering her on as we hope to see another female athlete from our small community join swimmer Lydia Jacoby, who was a gold-medal Olympian in 2020, representing the USA in 2028 at the Olympics in Los Angeles.
