The Seahawks football team is having another successful season. For the ‘24-25 season, they won their first two games by beating Nikiski, 54-6, and Valdez, 64-8. Seward has also won their games against Monroe Catholic, 84-14, and Kodiak, 74-0.
In addition to a successful season, the Seward Seahawks football team got a brand new field. It’s nice and bright with the colors gold and green. Their first home game on the new turf was against Nikiski where the Seahawks came away with the win, 34-14.
After playing a few games on the field, a couple of the seniors, Hunter Forshee-Kurtz and Noah Price, agree that the field is a major upgrade from the old grass field that they played on for their previous three seasons. Forshee-Kurtz said, “It’s better than playing in a giant mud pit.” Juniors Shawn McClain and Lane Petersen agree that the new turf field is much better than the old one. They even mentioned that it is more soft and squishy.
The Seahawks football team is heavily stacked with seniors: Noah Price, Jack Gardner, Hunter Forshee-Kurtz, Noah Bird, Brett Gilmore, Martin Fink, and Ronan Bickling. These players were recognized along with their parents before the home game on Saturday, September 28–another win against Monroe, 48-12. This was part of back-to-back home games, in which they also defeated Valdez, 46-26, for the homecoming weekend.
Yet again our Seahawks have successfully maintained another undefeated season, 7-0.
